My speciality is the Gold Coast suburbs of Queensland, as a proud local for over a decade. I'm interested in publicising apartments, because I know the dramatic lifestyle upgrade that comes from high end luxury apartment living, without the laborious maintenance. Never again will you have to spend your weekends weeding and mowing (unless you really want to). It seems that buyers are agreeing with me, as apartment sales are booming in the Gold Coast suburbs, more than anywhere else in Australia. 

 

The highest performing suburbs include Broadbeach Waters, Paradise Point, Hollywell, Hope Island (where I live), and Burleigh Waters. Due to the persistent low supply of property in the housing sector throughout Australia pushing up housing prices, more investors and primary place of residence buyers are looking to apartments as their first port of call. Apartment sales have been out-growing houses, for the first time ever. 

 

Another interesting trend in apartment ownership is the move towards primarily owner occupied residential premises. When previously apartments would have a combination of owner occupied, rental tenants and holiday tenancies, there is a strong shift towards owner-occupied residences, which is a welcome change for many who live there. 

 

According to Tim Reardon, the Chief Economist at the Housing Industry Association, construction needs to double to meet the Government's latest ambitious housing goals. The Government are hoping to achieve building 1.2 Million new properties by 2029. However, current trends are tracking development at only 100,000 new units being constructed each year. 

 

It's no surprise that demand is out-stripping supply. High end apartments offer affordability, excellent capital gains, luxurious amenities such as creche, theatre rooms, pilates rooms, and incredible panoramic views.
